Sermon: The Battle of Prayer!

Pastor Eduardo preached: The Battle of Prayer

The Bible says: "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This should be the motto of every follower of Christ Jesus. Never stop praying, however dark and hopeless your case may seem. In a battle we have to be ready to fight and win. Nothing can be in between, we can not be distracted by this world. The seductions of the flesh, materialism and other things make one weak spiritually unfit to win the battle of prayer, they end up being defeated.

The prayer battle is a spiritual battle, the person must be walking in spirit, being faithful God in everything. That will be prepared with the armor of God Ephesians 6: 10-18, in the battle position of faith.

The spiritual danger
We cannot serve money Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters, for he will despise one and love the other, or he will love one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and wealth. "
Remember that if the devil feels that your heart is materialistic, he will offer you the riches to destroy you. Remember the end of the rich in the history of the rich and Lazarus Luke 16: 19-31. The Parable of the Foolish Rich Luke 12:20 But God said to him: “Fool! Tonight they will claim your life. And who will keep what you have accumulated? ” 21 "This is the case with those who accumulate wealth for themselves, instead of being rich before God." And also of the end of the young rich Mark 10: 21-30 Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said: «One thing is missing: go and sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then you come and follow me ». 22 But he, afflicted by these words, went away sad, because he owned many goods.23 Jesus, looking around, said * to His disciples: “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! ». 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answering again, said to them *: «Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God [b]! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a [c] needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. ”26 They were even more astonished, saying among themselves [d]:“ And who can be saved?

* He who saves himself to God and is faithful in everything and at all times can be saved. He who understands the spiritual danger of riches can overcome the battle of prayer. Jesus renounced the riches Matthew 4: 9 and said to him: All this I will give you, if you prostrate you will worship me.10 Then Jesus said to him: Go away, Satan, because it is written: To the Lord your God you will worship, and to him you will only serve.
Jesus' prayer life, we notice the intensity with which He prayed. The New Testament says that, in Gethsemane, He cried out with a loud voice; that in the intensity of his supplication, he fell face down on the damp ground of the garden; He begged until his sweat was "like drops of blood" (Luke 22:44).

The power of prayer

Pastor Eduardo preached: The power of prayer: We are caught in a stream of history that we cannot control.
Our country insisted that we, with military power, our tremendous wealth and our alliances with other countries, are the owners of our own destiny, when history shows that God was the one who designed the course of this nation.

There is only one power that can change the course of history, and it is The power of prayer: the prayer of men and women who believe in Christ and revere God.

From layer to layer of the Bible are stories of people whose prayers were answered; people who changed the direction of the story through prayer; people who prayed fervently, and God answered. Abraham prayed, and while he prayed, God did not destroy the city of Sodom, where Lot, Abraham's nephew, lived. Genesis 18: 16-19: 27

Hezekiah prayed when his city was threatened by the invading Assyrian army commanded by Sennacherib. The entire Sennacherib army was destroyed and the nation was freed for another generation ... because the king had prayed. 2 Kings 19: 14-19

Elijah prayed, and God sent fire from heaven to consume the altar offering he had built in the presence of the Lord's enemies. 1 Kings 18:38 Elisha prayed, and the son of the Sunamite rose from the dead. 2 Kings 4: 8-37 Jesus prayed by the entrance to the tomb of Lazarus, and he who had been dead for four days came out alive. John 11-12 The crucified thief prayed, and Jesus assured him that he would be with Him in paradise. Luke 23: 42-43 Paul prayed, and churches were born in Asia Minor and in Europe Ephesians 1:15-19. Peter prayed, and Dorcas rose again to serve Jesus Christ several more years. Acts 9: 36-42

But today, we have reached a point where many people consider prayer to be a mere formality. Thousands of people pray only in times of great tension, danger or uncertainty. Christ taught his followers to pray always. So fervent and direct were the prayers of Jesus that once, when He had finished praying, his followers approached Him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray" (Luke 11: 1).

What a glorious thing it would be if millions of us made use of the privilege of praying! Jesus Christ died to make this communion and this communication with the Father possible.

The connection of faith in God!

The connection of faith in God!

Pastor Eduardo preached: The connection of faith in God The connection between faith in God and faith in his promise will become clear to us if we consider what faith really is. It is often compared to the hand or the mouth, so we take and use what we have been given.

It is to my knowledge that the promise is that faith in the promise depends. Since God is One, nothing happens by accident; remove the veil of nature that masks His presence and you will find God behind the curtain. Keep your eyes open and ask your family and friends to share their best stories of Divine providence with you.

I have to listen to the person who gives me the promise because the tone of his voice gives me courage to believe. "So faith is by hearing, and hearing, by the word of God.", Romans 10:17.

But it is important that we understand that faith is also the ear, that we can hear what was promised and the eye through which we see what is offered. The ability to drink depends on it.

I have to see it because the light on his face melts all my doubts about my right to take. The value of a promise depends on the promising. Christian faith is not blind faith, it is a confirmed, proven and manifested faith through Christ; although we are taught in the Bible to have confidence in what we do not see (Hebrews 11: 1), what we do not see are the promises of God, which the ancient men of God trusted and because of them they were able to do big things; likewise, by trusting and obeying God rather than men, these promises will be fulfilled unfailingly also in our lives. It is seeing it by faith with the spirit.

I have to believe it. The people you love most are the people you trust most, and vice versa. Think of something that worries you, that generates fear and anguish — be it financial pressures or the results of a medical exam — and lets go of fear and trusts God. "Throw your burden on God and he will sustain you" (Psalms, 55:22). Try to feel that God is behind you. He is aware of your difficulty. He has the power to help you and wants to help you. Nothing is too big or too small for Him. So stop worrying; everything will be fine. God did not abandon you; He is here holding you by the hand.

To have faith in God, is first to believe that it exists and then to believe what you have said. The Bible says: "Hebrews 11: 6 And without faith it is impossible to please God; for it is necessary that he who approaches God believe that He exists, and that he is a reward for those who seek Him." In short, faith is to have conviction, to be convinced of something or someone. Faith makes us believers, makes us children of God, makes us saved, faith is our connection with Christ Jesus.
Take courage and move on! Never lose your faith in Jesus. He is the only one who can help you.
Trust! although everything at this moment looks bad, because your victory with Him is assured and it will be great. JESUS IS WITH YOU! Believe in Him as the most important thing in this world.

Renew your Covenant/ Renovar tu alianza.

Pastor Eduardo sermon: Renew your alliance.

Alliance with the people, being "The People of the Alliance" is the essential definition of Israel. His relationship with God, who has chosen him as "The People of his property" is the reason for his existence through the centuries to the present day. “The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The Lord did not make this covenant with our parents, but with us, with all those of us [a] who are alive here today. ”Deuteronomy 5: 2-3

But despite God's faithfulness and the fulfillment of his covenant promises, Israel has gone from faithfulness to infidelity; from forgetting God and sin in return to the Lord; from continuous renewal of alliance to rupture of the same. But God's plan to save man cannot fail, there will remain a small "rest" and with them God will seal a new Covenant.

The clauses of the covenant of God with his people, consisted not only of having no other god, nor only in the Ten commandments; Exodus 20,2-17, but in all the legislation found in the five books of the Law, which is the relationship of fraternity, love, justice, law, mercy, compassion and help for all the "brothers of Israel." That is why the claims and denunciations of the prophets of all times against all the social classes of the people condemning oppression, injustice against the poor, the weak, the widows, the orphans, the outsiders. Jeremiah 32,32-33. Theft, bribery, murder, violence and dispossession. "Thus you have broken my alliance with all your abominations." Ezekiel 44.7.

The Alliance supposes the Election; (God chooses a people to make an alliance with him) and the election is the fruit of God's free love, hence a "Consecrated People". The Love of God is the beginning, the source and source of the covenant with the people of Israel. God Loves, chooses and consecrates in Covenant and He never fails because He is eternally faithful.

Jesus establishes the new and definitive covenant sealed with his sacrifice, giving himself for men. She is celebrated in the communion, memorial of the new and eternal union of God with humanity. (Mark 14,14; 1 Corinthians 11,25; Lc 22,20).

On February 23 we will renew our alliance with God.
