Did you know that God is in the business of life change? It will take what is broken and fix it. It will take what is bent and straighten it. It will take what is broken and put it back together. God is in the life-changing business. We get overwhelmed trying to solve things that we cannot control. We get stressed bearing the blame for past mistakes. We live our lives focusing on things that don't matter, instead of valuing good things.
"How can I change my life? How can I fix myself and my mistakes?
"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the communion of his sufferings ..." Philippians. 3:10
Yes, the same power that raised Jesus Christ from death two thousand years ago is available to us right now to transform us, to take our weaknesses and turn them into strengths. What can the power of God do?
The power of God can CANCEL your past. First, the power of God is powerful enough to cancel our past: our failures, mistakes, sins, and repentance. When I say "cancel", I am not talking about denying the past as if it never happened. But what I'm saying is that with the power of God you don't need to be chained to those things. They give you a second chance.
God says that it is unnecessary for us to carry a heavy burden of guilt: wounds and bad memories. In Colossians 2: 13-14, God says that He has forgiven all our sins and canceled every record of the debt that we had to pay. Colossians says:
“When you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He gave you life together with Him, forgiving us of all our transgressions, canceling the certificate of debt that consisted of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and he took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross. "Colossians 2: 13-14 (NASB)
Jesus Christ knows the things that we have done wrong, but he did not come to rub them, he came to erase them.
He did not come to condemn us, he came to change us. The Bible says that this is what God does with the mistakes we have made. When we get closer to him, he cleans the board. The Bible says:
"Let us approach (God) with a sincere heart and with full assurance of faith, with our hearts clean of an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water." Hebrews 10:22 (NASB). How can we approach God? That is because, in Christ, we can be forgiven. He can cancel our past.
God can erase your past, bless your present, and guarantee your future!
