Inner Peace

Pastor Eduardo preached today:

INNER PEACE Jesus Christ is my peace. Only in it can you find peace for your soul, mind and heart.

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusts you. Trust in the LORD forever; For the LORD God is an everlasting rock. ” (Isaiah 26 :3,4)

This is a fantastic promise of God's Word! Being kept in peace means not being worn out inwardly by problems. Precisely in the days when so much talk about anxiety, stress, depression, and panic syndrome, finding a divine way to keep oneself in peace is all too valuable.

God is a place of shelter and refuge for his children. The sacred text calls it an "Eternal Rock." We need to learn to enjoy your peace even in the midst of the storm. Note also that the verse speaks about confidence and a firm mind, which indicates conviction. This promise does not mean not having problems, but having peace no matter what the circumstances around us. Worse than the difficult circumstances outside is having a troubled heart inside. Even before circumstances resolve externally, we need our inner peace.

When you find yourself in the midst of struggles and adversity, your real problem is not what happens around you, but the way you are affected inwardly. Biblical instruction is never about the outward aspect, but how to respond inwardly. Notice what Jesus taught about this:

“I have told you this, that you may have peace in me; in the world you will have afflictions, but be of good cheer; I have conquered the world. ”(John 16.33)

In talking about the afflictions we would face, Jesus made it clear that He wanted us to have peace in Him and good cheer.

While many believers despair of solving their problems, they lose sight of the fact that the only thing that really helps in times of adversity is maintaining peace and good spirits. Our strength does not come from outside, it does not come from the circumstances. Our strength comes from within! Look at what God said from the prophet Isaiah's mouth:

“For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: In your conversion, and in peace, is your salvation; in strength and confidence your strength, but you did not want it ”(Isaiah 30:15).

When we are filled with fear, worry and fear, not only do we not solve the problems but we create one more! Fears hurt us from the inside at least as much as problems hurt us from the outside.

You find this peace in prayer by meditating on God's word, dedicating yourself to serving God, having faith in the Lord's promises.

1- Prayer:

2. Meditating on the word of God:

3 Having faith in the promises of the Lord;

4 - Dedicating themselves to serving the Lord:

Conclusion: God promised to keep in peace only the one who took an attitude within. God's peace is not linked to our actions, but to an inner attitude. “I leave you peace, my peace I give you; I do not give it to you as the world gives it. Let not your heart be troubled, neither be afraid. ”(John 14:27)
